Hey everyone!
I'm back bringing you the looks from week 3 of the PRETTY, PRIMPED AND PRINTED CHALLENGE. As the weekly theme I chose to rock my FLORALS for 5 days. Here is how they came together!
DAY 9
On day 9, I thought I would bring back one of my favorite elements from
week 2's challenge looks for an encore performance. This flirty polka
dot skirt by Worthington is a great way to mix and match prints without being too overbearing. The floral piece is this cute body suit worn under a blazer. The bodysuit has a cap sleeve so I had to cover it (it was freezing that day!).
(P.S. Please pardon the belt situation in ^this pic. My photog aka My big sis did not notify me of what was going on. She thought it was funny afterwards...The worst!)
OUTFIT DEETS
Blazer - Calvin Klein (Macy's)
Bodysuit - ToTo Collection (Strawberry)
Skirt - Worthington (JC Penny)
Tights - Spanx (Spanx)
Shoes - Fergalicious (DSW)
DAY 10
Floral pants!!! They were huge for Spring 12 and can definitely be carried over into Fall/Winter. While my pair happen to be a little lighter, Floral pants in deeper tones are perfectly fine for this season. Wear what you like, just winter-ize it!
OUTFIT DEETS
Blazer - Jessica London (One Stop Plus)
Turtleneck - Worthington (JC Penny)
Necklace - Vintage (Antiques Garage, NYC)
Jeans - Almost Famous (Rainbow)
Shoes - Calvin Klein (Nordstrom Rack)
DAY 11
I'm good for turning dresses into skirts. In my opinion, It is one of the easiest things you can do to make additional use out of your wardrobe. If you follow my blog regularly, you know I have done this on several occasions. On this day, I added a fitted off the shoulder tee and a belt to accentuate the waist. To add some additional eleganza into the mix, I pinned my hair up into a beehive. While big hair is ultimately my 'thing', sometimes I like to keep it very simple.
OUTFIT DEETS
Shirt - Mossimo (Target)
Belt - No Label (Rainbow)
Dress (Worn as Skirt) - Yours Clothing (Yours Clothing)
Boots - Comfortview (One Stop Plus)
DAY 12
I found this floral button up dress while cleaning out my mother's closet a few months ago.
My initial reaction was asking why in the bumpkin hell it was even in there. After giving it a good stare down for another few minutes, I realized that something could eventually be done with it. I ended up really liking it as a 'duster' and decided to wear it as such for our Thanksgiving Day festivities. Very comfy and a little cute. I like that.
OUTFIT DEETS
Shorts - Lane Bryant (Lane Bryant)
Belt + Boots - Mossimo (Target)
DAY 13
The days following Thanksgiving were pretty busy for me. Lots of errands to run and places to be. I wasn't in the mood to fancify my hair so I pulled it up in a bun and tied on this lightweight pink, lilac and green floral printed scarf.
When tying scarves, I normally try to create a more precise oversized bow in the front. In this particular case though, it came out a little all
over the place. Funny thing is, I liked it that way. While feeling like you have a bouquet on your head may be strange to some, it doesn't bother me at all.
OUTFIT DEETS
Scarf - H+M (H+M)
Necklace + Bag - No Label/Thrift (Unique, NYC)
Shirt - Highway Jeans (Rainbow)
Pants - Lane Bryant (Lane Bryant)
Boots - Mossimo (Target)
I've got one more week to post with this challenge before I close it out! Stayed tuned for that.
In the meantime, I wanted to let you know that Kurvayshus.B is also now on Tumblr! If you're on too, hit me up!
See you soon!
You look great in all of these outfits, but I think my favourites are the first one (I love that polka dot skirt mixed with florals), and the third one (of the dress turned in to a skirt). Looks so pretty! :)
